THURSDAY, Sept. 9 (HealthDay News) — About one in 10 athletes who competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics suffered an injury and about one in 14 became ill, according to a new study.

Researchers analyzed reports from the 82 national team doctors who looked after a total of 2,567 athletes and found that there were 287 reported injuries and 185 illnesses. That works out to 111.8 injuries (11 percent) and 72.1 illnesses (7 percent) per 1,000 registered athletes at the games in Vancouver, Canada.

About 22 percent of the injuries resulted in athletes being unable to train or compete, according to the report in the September issue of the British Journal of Sports Medicine.

Athletes competing in bobsledding, ice hockey, short track skating, alpine freestyle skiing or snowboard cross were most likely to suffer an injury or illness (ranging between 15 percent and 35 percent). The lowest risk (less than 5 percent) was among athletes in Nordic skiing events (cross country skiing, biathlon, ski jumping and Nordic combined), luge, curling, speed skating and freestyle moguls.

The head, spine and knees were the most common injury sites, and these injuries were almost as likely to occur during training (46 percent) as during competition (54 percent). However, three out of four injuries suffered by snowboarding, freestyle cross skiing, short track skating, figure skating, skeleton and biathlon athletes occurred during training, reported Lars Engebretsen, of the Oslo Sports Trauma Research Center, Norwegian School of Sport Sciences in Oslo, Norway, and colleagues.

Among the other findings:

* The most common types of injuries were bruising, ligament and muscular sprains.
* There was one death — an athlete who died while training for luge.
* Female athletes had a higher injury rate (131.1 per 1,000) than men (93.3 per 1,000). About 20 percent of female athletes in bobsled, ice hockey, snowboard cross and in freestyle cross and aerials suffered an injury. Just under 28 percent of male athletes were injured in short track, 17 percent in bobsled, and just under 16 percent in hockey.
* About 10 percent of athletes in skeleton, figure and speed skating, curling, snowboard cross and biathlon had at least one illness, 62 percent of which were respiratory infections.

The first episode of the show has already been released and if you missed the episode then you can watch it on internet. The show is shown on the CW channel. The executive producer of the show Tom Welling and the other producers of the show include Allan Arkush and Kevin Murphy. The show is a Warner Bros. production.

The hellcats show is about a cheerleader team. The story of the drama series is based on the book Cheer. The hellcats cast is given below and a lot of people also want to know the full hellcats cast:

• Alyson Michalka is playing to role of Marti Perkins. Marti is from the town of Memphis, Tennessee. He is also called the wicked smart in the series. She also joins the cheerleading team to continue her pre-law education, when her mother goofed up she lost her scholarship.

• Ashley Tisdale is playing the role of Savannah Monroe. Savannah is the captain of the cheerleading, the name of the cheerleading team is called the hellcats.

• Heather Hemmens is playing the role of Alice Verdura, she is one of the hellcats flyers. She is not able to practice cheering due to her wrist injury.

• Robbie Jones is playing the role of Lewis Flynn, he is one of the squad’s bases of the Hellcats.

• Matt Barr is playing the role of Dan Patch, he is love with Marti Perkins in the drama series.

Which celebrities have the most expensive properties on the market right now? Let’s apologize up front for not including any pocket listings that we don’t know about. (In fact, if you’d be so kind as to let us know about them, we’d be most grateful.)

And sorry, but we aren’t counting Candy Spelling’s Bel-Air listing at an unrealistic $150 million here — not because it isn’t a super property (if overpriced) but because despite her befriending us on Facebook, we still don’t quite consider her a celebrity. We’re also not including Dennis Hopper’s estate, no disrespect intended toward the recently departed but if we opened the cemetery floodgates, there wouldn’t be enough room in cyberspace to list them all. And lastly, we’re so sick of athletes who misbehave that we’ll pass on considering them celebrities for the moment. Overgrown kids maybe, but not celebrities.

So with those caveats, here’s the unofficial Luxist list of 10 of our favorite and most expensive celebrity homes on the market.

1) Billy Joel’s Sagaponack Village house for $19.9 million. We love love love this beachfront house in Sagaponack Village South that sits on 145 feet of oceanfront. We even loved it when it was first listed at $22.5 million. Classy, elegant, blends with the surroundings. You half expect a seagull to land on you while you stare at the photos. High beamed ceilings, white-washed, New Englandy without the pretensions. It was renovated in 2009 and clearly is a place where great music could be made — although apparently not between Billy Joel and his soon-to-be-ex wife Katie Lee Joel. Nothing like a divorce to force the issue of liquidating the real estate. And nothing like a recession to keep things from moving. The piano man and his fourth wife also listed the property next door to this one for $12 million. There are some reports it sold in the $10 million vicinity.

Lindsay Lohan’s Long Island home was attacked by vandals after her release from inpatient rehab in August.
Lindsay’s mother, Dina Lohan reported the incidents to the Nassau County Police Department. The home was reportedly pelted with dirt bombs and eggs and the home’s mail box was ripped out of the ground.
Lindsay is not currently in New York and Dina tells TMZ she has “no idea” who would vandalize their home.
The eggs and dirt bombs were thrown on August 31 and the mailbox was ripped out of the ground on September 6. It isn’t clear if these incidents are related or if…
